Inaugural Liturgy Served in San Diego Mission
Bishop Sergios of Loch Lomond, Igoumenos of Saint Gregory of Sinai Monastery in Lake County, California, served the first Liturgy in a new Mission effort in San Diego on Sunday, August 1/14.
His Eminence, Metropolitan Moses of Portland blessed the San Diego Mission to use, as its patron saint, Saint John of Shanghai and the Western United States.
This inaugural Liturgy was served in the home of Dr. and Mrs. James Seraphim Steger.
Liturgy will be served once a month during this initial phase to see if there are Orthodox Christians interested in joining a liturgical community whose Hierarchs are not involved in the pan-heresy of ecumenism – particularly in its chief institutional expressions, the World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches.
Please contact Bishop Sergios at abbot@gsinai.com if you are interested in this Mission, and would like more information. You can also reach Bishop Sergios by phone at 707-279-0488, and by post at Saint Gregory of Sinai Monastery, 8252 Harrington Flat Road, Kelseyville, CA 95451.
The liturgy is in English and begins at 10 AM on designated Sundays.
The next liturgy at Saint John of Shanghai and the Western United States will be on Sunday, September 11, 2011.
